Southside Market Renovation

The historic Leon's Bar-B-Q building is being transformed through a gut renovation into the new headquarters for R.A.G.E. (Residents Association of Greater Englewood). The redevelopment preserves the building's historic significance while creating a modern, community-focused facility designed to serve residents for years to come. The project includes a complete interior renovation, a new storefront façade with contemporary metal cladding, the installation of a new elevator, and a rooftop deck overlooking the neighborhood.

This site improvement project enhanced pedestrian infrastructure at the University of Chicago, improving safety, accessibility, and the long-term durability of one of the campus's most heavily traveled areas.

Francis Construction Group managed the site's stockpile operations, coordinating the placement, spreading, and compaction of 150–200 truckloads of fill daily.
